Making Memories
Happy Sunday this first day of December! I want to tell you about the best little Unique Boutique that we are lucky to have nestled right here in our Community. It's called The Oromocto Galleria. Located at 291 Restigouche Rd. in Oromocto N.B, this shop is filled with locally made handcrafted treasures where you can find something for everyone. They carry jewelry, pottery, felting, paintings, rug hooking, knitting, crocheted items, soaps, lotions, candles, melts, essential oils, furniture, clothing, food items, DIY kits and my friend Beth's painted rocks.
They also provide personally customized boxes for gifts or your own pleasure. How about a Family Day Activity box with projects geared for you to do together as a family. Or a Camping Box, Birthday Party Boxes, Mother's Day, Father's Day, Valentine's Day. Whatever the occasion, The Galleria has you covered. Kim and her team are huge supporters of others in the community and are always giving back. One of the endeavours they are involved in is The Princess and The Purse Project where they take new or gently used purses filled with personal care items and distribute them to transition houses and shelters to help support local women in need. They also go out into the community and surrounding area to give workshops which are usually sold out quite quickly. Inside the shop they also have a Fusion Mineral Paint Center and a Do It Yourself Studio where you can sit inside in front of the big window and create. My friends and I decided to celebrate a birthday here last week. We each picked a project to paint. All supplies were included. The lovely and delightful Janis guided us through the complete process from start to finish. It was so much fun! When we were finished we enjoyed gumdrop cake drizzled with icing made by Darla and we all sang Happy Birthday to Rose.
Community building is all about bringing people together and creating a sense of belonging. This is exactly what The Oromocto Galleria does. There is an energetic flow of creativity that permeates the entire space. It's a place to gather with friends, meet new and old friends, shop in a helpful, relaxing atmosphere, learn, create and be inspired. We enjoyed the experience immensely and I look forward to doing it again. Wonderful memories were made.
Love and Light, Jeanne
